Iranian Doctors Building

The Iranian Doctors Building is the proposed title for the creation of a multi-purpose and advanced building to provide medical and commercial services to the citizens of Yazd. The complex site is located on the eastern side of Taleghani Boulevard, opposite the Central Laboratory. This site leads to Fatouhi Street from the north, to residential houses from the east, and to a dead end from the south.

In designing the complex’s facade, an effort has been made to create a modern Iranian work with native materials, while also being suitable for the medical community. The main concept shaping the design is actually the inverted geometric pattern of Iranian Karbandi, which was adapted from the Dolatabad Garden in Yazd during the design process. The arches used follow the load pattern of the structure and form the shaded space under the porch.

In terms of climate, since the complex’s facade has a large surface area facing west and northwest. The use of brick lattice shading along the entire length of the facade in a combination of vertical elements close together is recommended as a solution to control inappropriate radiation.
